Meet Charlotte

Owner/ Director

Charlotte is the passionate Director of Carpe Diem Community Services, an organization she established in 2019. With a strong educational foundation, Charlotte holds a Bachelor of Behavioural Science (now Psychological Science) and a Bachelor of Humanitarian and Community Studies from Charles Darwin University. She is also a proud member of the Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA) and is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at Flinders University, with plans to graduate by the end of 2024.

Charlotte’s extensive experience includes roles in therapeutic settings, where she provided play therapy and supported children with diverse neurological disorders, as well as positions at Henbury School’s After-School Program. Her career also includes over three years at Territory Families in Residential and Out of Home Care Settings, followed by a significant role at the Department of Health in the Specialist Forensic and Disability Unit as a Shift Supervisor and Forensic Disability Coordinator for over 3 years.

When the NDIS evolved in 2018, Charlotte took on a leadership role at a well-known NGO before founding her own NDIS company. Her mission is to offer flexible, person-centred support with a focus on trauma-informed care, aiming to enhance the experience of care for young people and adults with disabilities and mental health challenges, while minimizing the risk of re-traumatization due to inadequate care-settings.

With her deep expertise and commitment to compassionate care, Charlotte is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves.

Meet Dinto

Administration and Business Coordinator

Hello! I’m Dinto, the Administration and Business Coordinator at Carpe Diem Community Services. My journey into the disability sector is deeply personal. Growing up in India, I supported my uncle, who has a disability. This experience made me realize the critical need for robust government support to help people with disabilities thrive in their daily lives and achieve their goals.

Inspired to make a difference, I explored the NDIS sector and earned a Certificate III in Disability after moving to Darwin. I also pursued a master’s degree in Public Policy. My career began at Hands on People, where I spent two years managing policy and administration while offering daily support to clients.

I joined Carpe Diem Community Services two years ago, and I’m thrilled to be part of such a supportive work culture with great opportunities for professional growth. I’m excited to further my expertise in case management and continue my education in disability and mental health.

Outside of work, I love playing cricket with friends and exploring cars. If you see me around, feel free to chat—I’m always happy to connect!

Meet Tash

Client Service Manager

Tash brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, with 12 years of experience in the disability field.

Tash first began her journey in the sector as a Support Worker in Adelaide, taking on flexible hours, active nights, and stepping in as needed to recalibrate the team in a crisis. This hands-on experience led Tash to a supervisory role, where she continued to develop her skills and knowledge.

Tash spent 8 years in a position within the government, supporting clients with extremely high medical needs and complex behaviours.

Joining an NGO as a Support Coordinator marked a significant change in Tash’s career, offering a wealth of progression and opportunities.  Tash played a significant role in opening a new office and eventually took on the position of Regional Home Care Manager.

Tash’s passion for supporting clients led her to manage Supported Independent Living (SIL) services with a focus transitioning clients from institutional settings into community-based living.

A desire for a lifestyle change brought Tash all the way to Darwin, where she has been working with Carpe Diem, continuing her dedication in making a positive impact in the lives of those she supports.

Having a family member with an intellectual disability has inspired Tash’s passion and commitment to helping others. Tash has experienced firsthand how effective support can transform someone’s daily life, and see people achieve their goals and the positive effects on their well being.

Since moving to Darwin, Tash has loved the change in lifestyle and has spent more time reading, exploring the outdoors and time with friends.

Tash is also an absolute animal lover and has dedicated her time to fostering animals in times of need.

Tash’s kind nature and supportive attitude make her a joy to have in the office. She is always ready to lend a hand and assist others.

Meet Meg

Client Service Manager

Meg has 5 years of experience in the disability sector as a Support Coordinator. Meg enjoyed this role as everyday was unique with some great challenges and was very engaging. She had the chance to travel to remote communities and support people from all walks of life, including adults and children. While in this role, Meg progressed to become a Support Coordinator Team Leader in which she flourished for 2 years. This role gave Meg some great experiences like supporting her team of 4 support coordinators, traveling to new locations where she set up new offices from Darwin, Karratha and Broome and trained new staff.

Meg has found that working with people with disabilities is rewarding, where she can engage with people and develop tailored support for them. Meg enjoys working with Carpe Diem as she has developed a professional relationship with the team and saw positivity and growth the company has had and wanted to contribute to the future growth of supporting people.

Meg has an engaging personality and a great sense of humour. She enjoys collaborating with coworkers and being innovative with new ideas. Meg enjoys spending time in nature. She bundles up the kids for some fun camping trips and going for relaxing beach walks. She definitely keeps an eye out for any crocs or stingers!

Meet Betty

Client Service Manager

Bonjour! I’m Betty Clerc.

I grew up with my brother, who has a complex disability. Looking back, I consider it one of the best things that ever happened to me. Naturally, my friends and family weren’t surprised when I decided to study social work. I started with a certificate in Health and Wellbeing and later completed a diploma in social work. My studies gave me invaluable experience working with adults with complex disabilities and behaviours, and I loved it so much that I ended up working in the same unit where I did my placement!

After my studies and some work experience, I decided to mix things up a bit and ended up exploring Australia for two years. I fell in love with the country (and yes, Vegemite) and decided to stay—11 years and counting! My English wasn’t the best at the time, so I picked up various little jobs until I felt confident enough to dive back into my field.

Today, I’m a Client Service Manager at Carpe Diem, and I absolutely enjoy every moment of it. In the office, I’m known as the fun, bubbly person with a can-do attitude who’s always ready to lend a hand.
